Abigail Elias

I began working life as a primary school teacher, working in schools in both the UK and New York. I became inspired and motivated by teaching in more holistic environments, and developed an interest in pastoral care and emotional development.

After spending time focused on nurturing and raising my three children, and experiencing traumatic life changes, I realised that therapeutic coaching is incredibly powerful. I trained with Barefoot Coaching and am thriving on being able to help others to experience transformative life changes.

COACHING & MY APPROACH

After personally experiencing both therapy and coaching, I emerged stronger, with a new zest for life that I didn’t know was possible.

I strongly believe that combining therapeutic and holistic approaches with coaching theories helps me to create lasting and life changing results.

Often, my clients come to me without knowing what is it that they actually want to change, and why they are experiencing certain emotions. Through my gentle, supportive and thought provoking guidance, we work together to establish what’s really going on and how to move forward. 

As your mindset coach, my aim is to listen deeply and to create a non-directive, collaborative approach that will help you to work towards shifting your mindset and achieving tangible goals.

I will help you to see new perspectives and we work together to break down barriers that may be stopping change from happening.

Anxiety

My deep sense of empathy has helped clients to identify underlying beliefs that are fuelling their anxiety. Together we move forward to reshape these beliefs and start to reduce anxiety related symptoms.

A wobble here and there can lead to an increasing lack of self confidence. My clients often come to me as these feelings begin to impact their personal and working lives. Together we work on a profound level to establish where these barriers stem from, and start to let go and create the confidence that they deserve to have.

Divorce

I specialise in helping my clients to have clarity of thought and to create tools and emotional stability during this time of distress and often, great confusion. My coaching focuses on you, the client, not the noise surrounding you from external influences and opinions at a traumatic and turbulent time. My clients are often emotionally and mentally overloaded and exhausted, and benefit from my nurturing, non judgemental support. It can feel like a breath of fresh air to work with a coach instead of relying solely on friends and family. I work closely alongside your existing support network and legal teams to enable my clients to achieve clarity of thought and balanced emotions, helping to move forward and see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Post divorce recovery

Divorce trauma does not end the day that you get your Decree Nisi and emotional support is often amazingly beneficial afterwards. I work alongside my clients from any stage of divorce or separation until the point at which they are ready to move forward. 

Navigating the waves of your new way of life can be exhilarating, but also hugely fear inducing and overwhelming. I coach my clients to establish how they want their new situation to look and feel, and together, we create a fresh outlook and approach to their new reality. 

Co-parenting after divorce and separation

I work with clients looking to find a way to see past their emotional and financial conflicts with their ex partners. We work towards creating a path that enables the interests of the children to be central to decisions, and ongoing communication and contact. We work closely together to establish how change can occur and what might be possible for the sake of your children – and you. 

Relationships

No relationship is the same and I support my clients through beginnings of relationships, and the barriers and emotional blockages that they want to break free from. This is an exciting time, and it can be amazingly refreshing to reboot and adjust old mindsets, approaching a new relationship with enthusiasm and a new sense of self. 

Grief and loss

Having undertaken further coaching training in grief and loss, I decided to explore this area in more depth. I have worked with clients experiencing grief not solely through bereavement – but also through job losses, endings of relationships and friendships, and illness. Trauma sits in our bodies often for long periods of time, and starting the process of unblocking and examining this can be enlightening and relieving as life moves on.

Work and career obstacles 

Navigating career and workplace challenges post Covid can feel like a minefield. My role as your coach is to help you to find  your own solutions – I metaphorically hold up the mirror so that you can create the self awareness that has often become lost. I am here to help you to overcome current issues as well as creating the tools to deal with obstacles that may lie ahead. 

Managing and creating a work / life balance

As we navigate life and its inevitable challenges, it can feel as though we lose track of perspective and the ability to live effectively and happily. I work with my clients to establish hopes and dreams for a balanced life. We reflect deeply on how life is right now and establish how to realistically move towards a vision of a calm and balanced future.
